We wanted to put out a casual, summer, "drinking beer in the sunshine" shirt, so we commissioned rock and roll t-shirt and poster artist David Paul Seymour to draw up something with hot chicks, elk skulls and a bindrune I associate with fertility god Freyr selecting and enjoying the best that life has to offer. The runes at the bottom spell out Freyr.
T-shirt is 100% brown cotton, athletic fit. We're only doing one run of these in this color way, so get yours before they are gone. Also check out David Paul Seymour's original design, available in poster form through Brutal Co. here.
About the concept:
This shirt is a tribute to the god Freyr, sometimes referred to as Ing, Ingwaz or Ingvi-Freyr. Freyr is one of the nature-oriented Vanir gods, associated with fertility and prosperity. The pagan altar that dominates the image is a mirrored Fehu rune, associated with prosperity and mobile wealth. When mirrored, it also produces a double Algiz rune. Algiz is man reaching upward. Prosperity creates opportunity -- a myriad of choices. Algiz reminds us to choose wisely. Choose the higher path -- not just the first thing in front of you. Choose what you really want, not just whatever comes along.
